Liz Polanco runs the Spanish Division at Checkmate. That is two jobs at once. She sits with Latino families to set up their coverage, and she trains the bilingual agents who do the same, in Spanish or English, whichever the family speaks.
She came up the hard way.
Before insurance, Liz worked in real estate and timeshare. Long hours, plenty of rejection, and years of learning how to talk to people. When she switched to life insurance, the selling part came easy. What got her was that the work finally mattered. The right policy changes what happens to a family.
She builds agents, not just sales.
Liz coaches bilingual agents, men and women, into real producers. People start green with her and leave knowing how to run a conversation, take a no, and close without pushing. A few of them lead their own teams now. That is the part she is proudest of.
