Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 3, 2026
1. Overview
Checkmate Financial Group LLC (“Checkmate Financial Group,” “Checkmate,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a licensed insurance agency. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect information about you when you visit our website, request a quote, book a consultation, apply to join us as an agent, or otherwise communicate with us (collectively, our “Services”).
Please read this policy carefully. By accessing or using our Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy and to our Terms of Service. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our Services.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide directly. When you request a quote, book a consultation, apply to become an agent, sign in to the agent portal, or contact us, we collect the information you choose to give us. Depending on the form, that may include your name, email address, phone number, state of residence, age range, the coverage amount or products you are interested in, employment or licensing details for agent applicants, and anything you write in a notes or message field. Calls with our team may be monitored or recorded for quality assurance, training, and compliance, with notice at the start of the call; recordings are handled as personal information under this policy.
We collect contact information only through this website and your direct contact with us. Every piece of contact information we hold was given to us directly by the person it belongs to, through a form on this site or by calling, texting, or emailing us. We do not buy, rent, or import contact lists, and we do not obtain consumer contact information from outside sources. The only exception is operational: during quoting and policy service, the insurance carrier handling your application may provide us information related to that application or policy.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we collect limited technical information when you browse, such as your IP address, approximate location derived from it, device and browser type, the pages you view, and how you arrived at the site. See Cookies & tracking below.
3. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your requests, prepare quotes, and connect you with a licensed agent and the insurance carriers that fit your situation;
- Schedule, confirm, and follow up on consultations you book;
- Process and respond to agent applications;
- Service any policy you obtain through us;
- Send transactional communications about your requests, and, where you have consented, marketing communications you can opt out of at any time;
- Operate, secure, analyze, and improve our website and Services;
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents; and
- Comply with insurance laws and regulations and our other legal obligations.
4. Text messaging (SMS)
If you provide your mobile phone number and expressly opt in, Checkmate may send you text messages about your quote request, appointment confirmations and reminders, updates related to your inquiry or policy, and, only where you have consented to it, marketing messages. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing any product or service.
You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, after which you will receive a single message confirming your opt-out. Reply HELP for help, or contact us at Info@Checkmatefinancialgroup.com or (833) 997-6934.
We do not share your mobile phone number or your text-messaging opt-in consent with third parties unless we have received your express written consent to do so. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All categories of information described in this policy exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; that information will not be shared with any third parties, excluding the aggregators and providers of the text message services that deliver our messages. The sharing described elsewhere in this policy, such as with the carrier and licensed agent handling your request, never includes your text-messaging opt-in data.
5. When we share information
We do not sell your personal information for monetary compensation. We share information only as described below:
- Insurance carriers and licensed agents. To prepare your quote, place coverage you apply for, and service your policy, we share relevant information with the licensed agents working on your request and the carriers you are quoted with or apply to.
- Service providers. Vendors that support our business, such as website hosting, customer relationship management, scheduling, communications delivery, and analytics, may process information solely to perform services for us under contractual confidentiality and security obligations.
- Legal and safety.We may disclose information to comply with judicial or governmental subpoenas, warrants, or orders, to enforce our terms, or to investigate, prevent, or act on suspected fraud, illegal activity, threats to any person’s safety, or violations of our policies.
- Business transfers.If all or part of our business is financed, sold, merged, or otherwise transferred, information may be part of the transferred assets, subject to this policy’s commitments.
- With your consent. We may share information with any other person or entity when you direct or consent to the disclosure.
Depending on your state, some sharing for advertising purposes may be defined as a “sale” or “sharing” under state privacy law. You may opt out as described in State privacy rights.
Insurance information practices (GLBA)
As a licensed insurance agency, Checkmate collects nonpublic personal information you provide during quoting and application, such as contact details, age, health-related answers, and beneficiary information. We disclose that information only as permitted by law: to the insurance carriers and licensed agents quoting or servicing your coverage, to service providers under confidentiality obligations, and as required by insurance regulators or law. We do not sell nonpublic personal information, and we do not share it with unaffiliated companies for their own marketing. The carrier that issues your policy will provide its own privacy notice when you apply.
6. Cookies & tracking
This site uses a small number of first-party cookies and similar technologies to make the site work, remember your preferences, and measure aggregate site performance. We do not run outside advertising cookies or cross-site tracking pixels on this site. You can set your browser to refuse cookies; parts of the site may not function properly without them. Some browsers offer “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signals; because we do not sell or share personal information as defined by California law, those signals do not change how this site operates, and we treat all visitors the same way.
7. How we protect information
We use reasonable and appropriate administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information against loss, destruction, and unauthorized access, alteration, use, or disclosure, and we expect the vendors that process information for us to do the same. No website, transmission, or system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. If you believe your interaction with us is no longer secure, contact us immediately using the details in How to contact us.
8. Data retention
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including satisfying legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, and reporting requirements that apply to a licensed insurance agency. Retention periods vary with the type of information, its sensitivity, and the requirements that apply to it. We may retain information longer where a complaint or a reasonable prospect of litigation exists, and we may keep anonymized or aggregated information indefinitely.
9. Children’s privacy
Our Services are intended for adults and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it as soon as possible.
10. Your rights & choices
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, subject to applicable law and the records we are required to keep as a licensed agency. You may opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in any marketing message. You may revoke your consent to calls and texts at any time, by any reasonable means: reply STOP, QUIT, END, REVOKE, OPT OUT, CANCEL, or UNSUBSCRIBE to any text, tell any agent on a call, or contact us by phone or email. We honor revocations within 10 business days, and usually much sooner. Unless you tell us otherwise, a revocation stops all further marketing calls and texts from Checkmate to that number. See also our Do-Not-Call Policy. If you opt out of marketing, we may still send you transactional communications about your requests, appointments, or policies. We will verify your identity before fulfilling requests, and we will explain our reasons if we must decline one.
11. State privacy rights
California.The California Consumer Privacy Act gives California residents rights to know, access, correct, and delete personal information, to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. In the last 12 months we have collected the categories of personal information described in Information we collect: identifiers, commercial information, internet activity, and inferences. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Because we do not sell or share personal information, we do not offer a “Do Not Sell or Share” link. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes requiring a right to limit under the CCPA.
Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Virginia, and other states.Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws may have similar rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising, sales, or certain profiling. Where state law provides a right to appeal a declined request, you may appeal by contacting us with the subject line “Privacy Appeal.”
To exercise any of these rights, use the details in How to contact us. You may use an authorized agent where state law allows; we may ask the agent for proof of your signed permission and may ask you to verify your identity directly.
12. Visitors outside the United States
Our Services are operated from the United States and are intended for U.S. residents. If you access the site from outside the U.S., you understand that your information will be processed and stored in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated policy here and revise the “Last updated” date above, and where appropriate we will provide additional notice. Your continued use of our Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
